Heath Hayes Primary School Choir Sings for our residents

Heath Hayes Primary sing for our residents at Needwood House Care Home

Pupils from Heath Hayes Primary School Choir serenaded our residents with a delightful selection of everyone’s favourite festive tunes. From the jingling notes of “Jingle Bells” to the classic charm of “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” and the enchanting melodies of “Winter Wonderland,” the choir’s performance filled the care home with joy and warmth.

The uplifting visit by the choir created a special moment for the residents.

Studies have shown that music, especially in the context of dementia care, can have profound positive effects serving as a therapeutic tool, contributing to the reduction of anxiety and depression among individuals living with such challenging health conditions. The Heath Hayes Academy Primary School Choir’s visit aimed to bring comfort and joy through the power of music to the residents of Needwood House.

Rachel Ball, Manager at Needwood Care Home, said: “This heartwarming event not only showcased the musical talents of the young performers but also highlighted the positive impact of community engagement on the well-being of those in care. The collaboration between Heath Hayes Academy Primary School Choir and Needwood House reflects the spirit of the season and the importance of fostering connections within the community.”

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the school and of course the children for coming into Needwood and singing so beautifully.

The talented young voices of Heath Hayes Academy Primary School Choir brought festive spirit to our home this December for a heartwarming Christmas carol performance.
