Exploring the Outdoors: A Refreshing Day at Chasewater Country Park with Needwood House Residents

At Needwood House, we believe that enriching experiences beyond our home are essential to the overall well-being of the residents. Recently, a group enjoyed a wonderful day out at Chasewater Country Park, soaking in the natural beauty, peaceful surroundings, and fresh countryside air that make this local spot such a cherished destination.

Chasewater Country Park offers a picturesque setting and the residents took gentle strolls along the lakeside paths, watched birds and boats pass by, and simply enjoyed being surrounded by nature.

Days like this provide so much more than just a lovely outing. Being outside in nature has a powerful effect on mental health, helping to reduce stress, lift spirits, and restore a sense of calm. Physical movement, even light walking, plays an important role in maintaining strength and mobility. Just as importantly, sharing experiences like these strengthens social bonds, creating joyful memories and sparking conversation long after the day is done.

After taking in the sights, the group gathered for a picnic, where smiles, laughter, and great conversation were in abundance. The joy on everyone’s faces was a reminder of how valuable these moments are.

Rachel, Manager at Needwood House, shared: “Seeing the residents enjoy themselves in such a beautiful environment was really special. These outings are an important part of the care we provide, they support physical and emotional health, and most importantly, they make people feel happy, connected, and free.”

At Needwood House, we are committed to delivering a holistic approach to care, and meaningful outings like this one are a wonderful way to enrich daily life.
